Concrete is a wonderfully strong material, but it must be strengthened
internally with steel reinforcing bars, known as re-bar.
Like any other concrete structure, the ITLL contains a hidden framework of interlaced re-bar. In the area shown in the photograph, re-bar is also added to the outside of a column and beam to visualize what is inside the structure.
